Selection Guidelines & Precautions

Physical Compatibility – Critical Check – The DS3800NPSJ1B1B is 8HP wide, requiring two adjacent empty slots in your Mark IV/V rack. Verify your main rack has sufficient space. This board will not fit in standard 4HP slots. If your rack is fully populated, you must remove two adjacent cards (and relocate them elsewhere) or choose a 4HP board (B1B or E1G) instead.

Backplane Compatibility – The board uses both the standard 96-pin P1 connector and a reinforced 60-pin P2 high-current connector. If your backplane lacks P2 (most pre-2005 racks), the +24V auxiliary rail and digital I/O will be unavailable—you lose some key advantages. The board will still function for +5V and ±15V outputs.
