FOXBORO FCM10EF is a fieldbus communications module of Foxboro I/A Series DCS, dedicated to connecting DIN rail – mounted Fieldbus Modules (FBMs) with I/A Series control stations through a high – speed, optionally redundant 10 Mbps Ethernet trunk fieldbus. FOXBORO FCM10EF can convert 10 Mbps Ethernet signals used by the control station into 2 Mbps signals for FBMs and vice versa, while also providing galvanic isolation between the 10 Mbps Ethernet trunk fieldbus and the 2 Mbps module fieldbus. FOXBORO FCM10EF is designed to be used in pairs for redundancy, and a single module or a redundant pair can support up to 30 FBMs, which makes it suitable for medium – to large – scale industrial automation systems with high requirements for communication reliability.
