Manufacturer: GE
Series: Mark V / Mark VIe
Channels: 16 differential
Input Range: -10 mV to +100 mV (Type J/K/T/E)
Cold Junction: Single onboard sensor, 4-wire compensation with improved thermal isolation
Isolation: 1500V AC
Accuracy: ±0.10% at 25°C, ±0.15% across full temperature range
Sampling: 5 Hz sequential
Temp Range: -40°C to +70°C (operating), -55°C to +90°C (storage) – extended vs standard H1B
Mounting: VME rack
Suffix “HD”: High-grade diagnostics (drift, degradation, calibration verification) + extended-temperature components (105°C capacitors, -40°C to +85°C ICs) + enhanced thermal design
Key Features
4-wire sensing cancels lead resistance for stable readings over long distances up to 300 meters
High-grade diagnostics – drift monitoring, degradation prediction, calibration verification, and sense-lead integrity check (beyond basic open/short)
Extended temperature range – operates from -40°C to +70°C, making it suitable for arctic, desert, or unheated cabinets
Improved accuracy (±0.10% at 25°C) with better thermal stability across extremes
Premium component selection – 105°C-rated electrolytic capacitors, extended-temp ICs, and enhanced thermal vias for heat dissipation
Superior conformal coating – high-temperature triple-layer coating for corrosion resistance in harsh environments (salt, H₂S, NH₃)
Simple swap – no firmware changes required in most Mark V systems; drop-in replacement for H1B series
LED status per channel + board health, with extended-temp LEDs
Backward compatible with Mark V and Mark VIe (hot-swap only on VIe Rev D+)
Applications
Arctic gas compressor stations – remote thermocouples in unheated cabinets at -40°C
Desert solar-thermal power plants – turbine and HRSG monitoring at 65°C+ ambient
Offshore platforms – long sensor runs with salt-spray corrosion protection and wide seasonal temperature swings
Large combined-cycle plants – remote HRSG and stack thermocouples with predictive maintenance in hot climates
Pipeline compressor stations – distributed suction/discharge sensors requiring early fault warning in extreme conditions
Mining operations at high altitude – wide-area sensor networks with both cold and hot extremes

Selection Tips
Choose the DS200TCDAH1BHD if you need predictive diagnostics on long thermocouple runs in extreme environments (arctic, desert, or unheated cabinets)
For basic 4-wire monitoring without extreme-temperature needs, the standard DS200TCDAH1B is more economical
For extreme temperature but without long-distance requirements, consider the DS200TCDAG1BDB (2-wire)
Verify existing wiring is 4-wire – 2-wire systems require new cables
Use correct H-series terminal blocks (HD uses same pinout as H1B)
Source refurbished units with extended-temperature test report and coating inspection
Precautions
ESD sensitive – use wrist strap; static builds more readily in cold/dry environments
Power down for Mark V removal (no hot-swap)
Torque terminals to 0.5 N·m max – metals become brittle at low temperatures
Do not exceed -40°C to +70°C operating range
Allow thermal stabilization (30 min) before calibration in extreme conditions
Calibrate every 24 months – the HD’s drift diagnostics rely on a valid baseline; calibrate at expected operating temperature
Ground shields only at the board end
Inspect coating for damage before installation – compromised coating reduces corrosion protection
Label cables clearly as “4-wire H-series HD” to prevent future miswiring
Store spares at 15°C–35°C, 40%–60% RH; allow 24-hour warm-up before opening bag if stored below 0°C
